Delicious vegetarian
burger recipes.
There is no
comparison in
flavour with a homemade burger. Fast food restaurants add far to
much salt, fat and sugar to burgers, even to vegetarian burgers.
We
can still enjoy a burger without worrying about calories. Of
course all in moderation but the great thing about cooking at home is
that you know for sure what ingredients go in your food.
Processed
burgers have emulsifiers and E numbers added to the burger which add no
nutritional value to your diet. These are used to help "stretch"
the bulk food, extend its shelf life and add extra flavour to food.
I
used to live near a chemical factory called Universal Flavours.
Even though my house was 3 miles away, you could smell various
ingredients depending on which direction the wind used to blow.
The
strawberry smell was not so bad. Sadly, to make this flavour, not real
strawberries were added. Chemicals were fused in order to replicate
this flavour. So remember, just because the label may say
"strawberry" flavour it does not always means that the actual
ingredient is added.
