If you want to save money the next time you use your tomatoes or sweet peppers (or any similar veg)why not try saving the seeds.
Find a a safe place to dry them - i find that the windowsill is perfect as it gets plenty of sun.
Once dry sow them in a sowing planter with a little water (do this around end of feb beginning or march in UK)and watch them sprout.
Plant them up when they are ready - check online for good planting advice.
Not only have you saved money for the future you have reducued your carbon foot print as well as growing your own organic veg. The beauty of this is that you can repeat the process every time from the veg you grow and in time can build up a well stocked kitchen full of free, natural ingredients.
