Sesame Spaghetti
Sesame Spaghetti is a quick vegetarian pasta dish.
Adding sesame seeds to stir fried Quorn pieces with honey really helps
to get a sweet and savoury texture.

Serves: 4
Preparation: 12 minutes
Ingredients:
Salt and pepper to taste
200g Spaghetti pasta
200g Quorn chicken style pieces
50g Soya cheese (crumbled)
2 Chilies (de-seeded)
5 tsp Sesame seeds
1/4 Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Ginger powder
2 tsp clear honey
1 tsp English mustard
2 tsp Couscous
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Soya butter
3 tsp Olive oil
1 Small onion
1 Garlic clove
1 Bay leaf
- Boil pasta for 2 minutes. Drain
and leave to one side. Drizzle 2 tsp olive oil to avoid
getting dry and sticking together.
- Peel, chop onion and garlic. De-seed chili and chop.
- Stir fry onion, garlic, chili, butter with olive oil on medium heat for 1 minute. Stir regularly.
- Add cumin seeds, Quorn, sesame seeds, honey, mustard, turmeric, ginger, couscous and bay leaf. Turn to low heat.
- Season with sea salt and ground black pepper.
- Stir often for 4 minutes and add hot water if necessary, about 1/2 cup each time to avoid sauce drying out.
- Add spaghetti and cheese once couscous is soft to the bite.
- Check seasoning.
- Stir for 1 minute removing from heat and serving.
This is a mouthwatering dish.
When I created this recipe, I fancied something quick and simple and voila!
I love the way the sesame seeds, spices, couscous and honey stick
to the Quorn pieces. The perfect sweet and sour combination.
