Quorn Sandwich


Delicious vegetarian Quorn sandwich filler
 Ready in minutes, great hot or cold.

Preparation: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
200g Quorn pieces (Chicken style)
1 French baguette
1/2 Onion (medium)
1/2 Red sweet pepper
1 tsp Cilantro
2 tsp Salad cream
1 tsp paprika
3 tsp Olive oil
2 tsp Butter
Salt and pepper

  • Peel and slice onion finely.
  • Fry onion with frozen Quorn pieces, olive oil and butter, on medium heat for 2 minutes.  Toss pan regularly.
  • Season with salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Turn heat down as onions soften, after 1 more minute take off the heat.
  • Serve Quorn pieces on French bread with chopped sweet pepper, cilantro and salad cream.
I love French bread.  Great on its own with just butter but as a base with any sandwich filler, it if a great snack specially when time is so precious.

If you are going through the transition from meat eater to vegetarian, Quorn pieces are a great alternative to chicken.  It absorbs spice flavours very well.
