Portuguese Tuna Steak



Portuguese Tuna Steak Recipe - Tuna is an excellent source of protein.

Preparation: 20 minutes
 
    Ingredients:
    2 Medium Tuna Steaks
    2 Large fresh tomatoes
    1 Small onion
    1 Garlic glove
    1/2 Lemon juice
    50 g Fresh coriander
    1 tsp French mustard
    1 Table spoon virgin olive oil

    - Peel, chop onion and garlic finely.
    - Take to a pan and stir fry for 30 seconds on high heat with olive oil.

Peel and de-seed tomatoes.
    - Chop tomatoes in small chunks and add to the pan.
    - Season with salt and pepper.
    - Add French mustard and stir regularly for 3 minutes on medium heat.
    - The sauce should be thick and chunky.
    - Add juice of 1/2 lemon, stir and take off the heat.
    - Heat indoor grill (preferably double sided toastie machine style).
    - Brush steaks with olive oil. 
    - Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
    - Grill tuna steaks for 5 minutes.
    - Chop coriander and leave to one side.
    - Re-heat tomato sauce if necessary.
    - Take tuna steaks off the heat.
    - Place each tuna steaks on serving plate and
    - Add 2 generous table spoons of chunky tomato sauce on each plate.
    - Decorate with chopped coriander.
