



Fish and
Chips – Basa with
Beer Batter
Normally, Cod or Haddock is used for battered fish. As an alternative
you could try other white fish choices like Basa, Pollock and Seabass.
When cooking battered fish, use a basic beer batter, it will work with
almost any fish.
Deep fried fish can still be healthy. The key is in the process.
Best for a large portion rather than small pieces of fish fried (like
fish fingers), because less oil has covered its surface. Thus
lower percentage of oil per portion.
The same applies to thick chips which are healthier than French fries.
To fry in olive oil is better because it adds a crispy finish to the
fish but also it contains less saturated fat than vegetable oil.
