Brioche 

Pao De Leite Recipe





Brioche - Portuguese Pao De Leite Recipe

Serves: 10
Preparation: 2 hours

If you are looking to add to
your personal collection of
vegetarian sandwich recipes,
this recipe is versatile and
easy to make in advance.


Ingredients:
500 g white flour
100g butter
100 ml milk
50g caster sugar
½ tsp Sea salt
2 tsp dry yeast powder
2 tsp caster sugar
4 Free range eggs

-    Beat 3 eggs with sugar and salt.
-    Add yeast to flour and then the eggs.
-    Mix and add milk slowly until achieving sticky consistency.
-    Add butter slowly until mixed well together.
-    Put mixture in a large bowl and cover with thick cloth. 
     Leave until doubling in size (about an hour).
-    Divide dough in 10 small rolls.
-    Put rolls in pre-greased baking tray
-    Make small incisions and brush beaten egg on top of each roll.
-    Leave to rest for about 30 minutes in a dark cupboard.
-    Bake in hot oven at 220 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden.
-    Serve hot with butter or cold as a sandwich.

Pao de leite is a traditional sweet bread roll from Portugal.
This sweet bread roll is served on its own, with butter or as an
alternative to a standard bread roll, satisfying any sweet tooth!

Delicious when served with Brie cheese, lettuce and dry tomatoes.
